At Horsewears we wash both Western and English saddle pads, and wraps. We also offer accessory products for purchase, custom fittings, waterproofing.
Saddle Pad Washing
Our commercial washers and carefully picked out products allow for us to give you the best result on your saddle pad. We also try our best to remove boot black off the English pads and any horse hair that is left on the pad. We follow manufacturing guidelines and safely wash wool, synthetic and natural fleece pads, and Back On Track saddle pads.
We always recommend getting in contact with your saddle pad manufacturer if you have any concerns about washing your saddle pad. We do our absolute best to use products appropriate for the type of saddle pad in for washing, whether that be a woven saddle blanket, fleece, or neoprene.
Accessory Products
We have leg straps, tail straps, girth or front extensions, and rubber keepers for hardware available for purchase.
Custom fittings
Some horses can be hard to fit correctly and blanket manufacturers all seem to have different patterns. It can be difficult to find the manufacturer that fits your horse. We can modify the fit on many blankets: adding shoulder gussets, adjusting the neck or shoulder hang, adjusting the neck cover to prevent mane rub, moving fittings, lengthening or shortening belly straps, etc. We also fit dog coats, sheep & goat coats.
We have products specific for various fabric types and items to restore water repellency. Waterproof breathable blankets which have been improperly handled may not be waterproof any longer. A repellent product adds protection to the top layer of fabric, it cannot remedy any existing damage to the waterproof membrane. Blankets must be clean and free of any soap residue for this service. We prefer to wash prior to waterproofing as blankets cleaned elsewhere are often not clean enough or not rinsed free of soap.
